Central Plaza Hong Kong
Central Plaza, a skyscraper symbol of Hong Kong, rises to 374 meters with 78 floors and was considered the tallest building in Asia from 1992 to 1996. It also became famous as the tallest reinforced concrete building in the world before being surpassed by CITIC Plaza in Guangzhou, China.
What is special is that the top of the building features a unique neon clock, which displays time by changing colors every 15 minutes. With its distinctive architecture, Central Plaza is also nicknamed the “Big Syringe” because the shape of its top resembles a giant needle.
Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower
Completed in 1915, the Hong Kong Clock Tower is located on the southern shore of Tsim Sha Tsui, near Victoria Harbour, featuring a distinctive structure made of red brick and granite, standing 44 meters tall. It was originally part of the Kowloon–Canton Railway terminus.
For the people of Hong Kong, this site plays an extremely important symbolic role, often regarded as the “Statue of Liberty” of New York. Although its official name is the Clock Tower of the Kowloon–Canton Railway, both locals and tourists usually call it the TST Clock Tower.
Today, the Clock Tower has become a popular tourist attraction where visitors can admire the cityscape. The surrounding area is often beautifully decorated during special events such as Lunar New Year and Christmas.
On these occasions, the Hong Kong authorities usually illuminate the area around the tower day and night, creating a dazzling and visually stunning scene.
